Guinness celebrates success at the 2020 Investors in People Awards

Date published: 30 November 2020

The Guinness Partnership housing provider has won three awards in this year’s Investors in People awards ceremony.

Announced on Tuesday (24 November), Guinness has been presented with these accolades: the Diversity & Inclusion award, the Health & Wellbeing award and a Special Recognition award for its work in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Guinness was one of three finalists for the Diversity & Inclusion award and one of eight for the Health & Wellbeing award.

On the special recognition award, the judges said it was a ‘tough call, because employers across all sectors had responded brilliantly to the pandemic’, but Guinness stood out amongst the other finalists with their response.

Catriona Simons, Group Chief Executive of The Guinness Partnership, said: “It’s wonderful to be recognised for our approach to diversity and inclusion, and Employee Wellbeing, both of which are at the heart of our values at Guinness. It’s also a wonderful surprise to win this special recognition, so thank you Investors in People. And thank you to all my Guinness colleagues, this is without any doubt your award.

“The last eight months have really shown the adaptability, resilience and above all the kindness of Guinness people - in the way they have looked after our customers and each other. I have never been prouder to work in social housing and I’ve never been prouder to be part of the Guinness team.”

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year the ceremony took place virtually.

The Guinness Partnership was founded 130 years ago and is one of the largest affordable housing and care providers in England. Guinness has more than 140,000 customers across the country, living in more than 65,000 homes.

Investors in People is a standard for people management, offering accreditation to organisations that adhere to the Investors in People Standard.
