A man from Wardle has been charged after school pupils assaulted

A 19-year-old man has been charged after ten school children were assaulted outside Wardle Academy on Friday morning (11 December).

Rian Power, of Wardle, Rochdale has been charged with nine counts of section 39 assault and one count of section 47 assault.

He appeared at Manchester & Salford Magistrates Court this morning (Saturday 12 December) and he has been remanded in custody to appear in court on Friday 8 January 2021.

One of the pupils, a 14-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
