Healthy Relationship Workshops available to Rochdale women

Date published: 15 January 2021

In partnership with Rochdale Borough Council, charity Europia are offering free online workshops for EU national women living in the Rochdale borough.

Established in 2008, Europia is a registered charity and community development organisation committed to supporting and empowering European nationals in Greater Manchester.

Their latest project - Healthy Relationship Workshops - will aim to support women in abusive, violent, and/or unhealthy relationships and will be delivered online for free by Kam Laing, the founder of Unchained Phoenix - an organisation working specifically with victims of abuse.

Each workshop would usually cost £49, but will be delivered for free, funded by Rochdale Borough Council.

The project will have three virtual sessions, beginning this week on Sunday 17 January from 7pm to 8pm, and continuing weekly on Sunday 24 and 31 January.

Each session will explore a different topic, including what healthy relationships are, why they become abusive, healthy boundaries, trust issues, and raising your confidence and self-esteem, plus more.

More information on the workshops available to Rochdale women and how to secure your free place can be found here:

Europia offers services ranging from legal advice, benefit advice, EUSS application assistance and Emergency Funds for the most vulnerable in communities. Europia also organises community development and wellbeing groups such as the Europia Art Collective, the Europia Roma Project, and the Europia Women’s Group.

Until March 2021, Europia will also be running One to One Emotional Therapy Sessions free for any EU national in Rochdale Borough Council who have experienced hate crime, discrimination, and human trafficking. These are personal sessions and are available in English and a range of EU languages.
