Murder investigation underway after taxi driver assaulted in October dies of his injuries

A murder investigation has been launched after a taxi driver assaulted on Queensway in October died on Sunday (14 November).

The taxi driver – a 39-year-old male – had been seriously attacked at around 5am on Saturday 30 October and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He sadly passed away in hospital on Sunday morning.

Two men from Oldham have been charged in relation to the incident – Connor McPartland, 20, has been charged with section 18 assault and possession of a bladed article, whilst Martin Treacy, 18, has been charged with section 18 assault. These charges were brought prior to the victim's death.
 


Enquiries are ongoing.
