Cadent Gas refurbishes training facility in central Rochdale

Date published: 08 November 2022

Cadent Gas, the largest gas distribution network in the country, has reached out to the local communities through their partnership with BACP (Bangladesh Association and Community Project), an established local charity based in central Rochdale.

On one of their community days held in the last week of October, the Cadent team helped refurbish the training room and the computer suite at BACP’s Ramsay Street site with new paint, carpets, chairs and tables, and television screens.

The learners will now have a better learning experience and a warm, welcoming environment.

Cadent has injected funds into the capital project of BACP along with the major funder, National Lottery Community Fund, where a building extension is now underway.

With Cadent’s support, BACP has strengthened its capacity to deliver for the community, particularly, helping the local residents with advice on energy efficiency, maximising income, carbon monoxide safety, and free distribution of carbon monoxide alarms.

Steve Hunt, the financial director of commercial at Cadent Gas said: “We are delighted to be able to support BACP.”

BACP centre manager, Habibul Ahad, said: “Thank you to Cadent for their support. We value such partnerships which encourage us to be more committed to the needs of the local communities and help us deliver.”
