Real ice-rink and Christmas markets in Littleborough this December

Date published: 07 November 2022

A real ice-rink and Christmas markets are coming to Littleborough this winter.

Littleborough Cricket Club, in conjunction with ISK8 Mobile Ice Rinks, is bringing a real ice rink and Christmas markets to Hare Hill this December.

Running from 1 December to 22 December, the rink will be 15m x 20m and have its own marquee: there will also be hot and cold food stalls, craft stalls with live singers and bands each Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Steven Clegg, steward of Littleborough Cricket Club, said: “As we have been very well supported by our local community we wanted to create a winter wonderland-style event.

“We wanted to give local people a chance to have the Christmas Markets experience without having to go to a big city.

“There are plenty of local musicians and bands who we want to use to try and give a local and unique experience.

“Our stalls are being taken up by small businesses and traders.

“We are looking to make it an annual event but this year’s will start small.

“We have the space, the time and the facilities to make it a must-see event in future years.

“Most of all we are still big kids at heart and what can be more fun than looking like Bambi on ice in front of your friends, followed by a couple of drinks and some great food and music?”
