A short police pursuit commenced on Milnrow Road before the collision on this section of Rochdale Road, Firgrove
A pedestrian is in a life-threatening condition after a collision with a police car that was chasing another vehicle in Firgrove, Rochdale.
The collision occurred during the early hours of Sunday (19 November) after police requested a vehicle to stop on Milnrow Road.
The driver failed to stop and a short police pursuit commenced before the collision on Rochdale Road, Firgrove. Police said the chased vehicle failed to stop at the scene of the collision.
Officers provided medical assistance to the injured pedestrian, who was taken to Salford Royal Hospital where they remain in a critical condition.
A spokesperson confirmed enquiries are ongoing to locate the male driver who fled the scene.
Referrals have been made to GMP’s Professional Standards Directorate and the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
