Middleton’s world dance champions Mia Linnik-Holden and Andrei Toader have been crowned the North of England champions for the third consecutive year.

The duo won the prestigious title at the British National Championships in Blackpool, which displays the best British ballroom and Latin dancing, where they also placed second in amateur ballroom.

“It’s an incredible honour,” the couple said. “To win such a prestigious trophy with so many of the greats on it is truly a special achievement for us.

“We really enjoyed performing over an incredible two days.”

The accolade also follows a year of incredible results for the couple, including a champion win at the Stoke-on-Trent Dance Festival last month, where Mia and Andrei retained their title of amateur ballroom challenge cup champions for a second year running.

The dancers also performed at the International Championship at London’s Royal Albert Hall, one of the most magnificent events in the dance world calendar, and achieved fourth place in amateur ballroom in the London Ball competition.

Mia and Andrei have also this year won the Allied Championship amateur ballroom trophy, the amateur trophy at the South of England Championships, landed second place at the UK Closed Championship, performed at the English Gala, and reached the finals of the British Open Amateur Ballroom.

They have continued to top the dance scene since their partnership began in 2015, going on to rack up numerous titles in the youth and junior ballroom and Latin ranks.
