Brownhill students raise funds for Springhill Hospice in memory of much-loved caretaker Bill Reynolds

Date published: 11 December 2023

Children from Brownhill Learning Community have raised over £500 for Springhill Hospice in memory of the school’s much-loved caretaker, Bill Reynolds.

Bill was cared for by the hospice before he sadly lost his battle with cancer last year.

Primary school children at Brownhill have been working tirelessly to raise funds after organising a variety of events and activities including making festive sleighs, a homemade lemonade stand, sponsored walk and making fudge and brownies.

In total, the students raised £512.34.

School-based youth worker, Chelsea Williamson said: “The loss of Bill, whom had the most amazing sense of humour, was felt by the BLC staff team, alongside the students who missed his cheery face and jokes ever so much.

“We can't describe how proud we are of our primary school; the children were determined to do him proud.

“Well done to everyone who took part, and we hope the funds will go a little way to help the hospice.”
