Local resident floored after win at Rochdale Carpetright

Max Lazarus won £250 worth of free flooring

Christmas came early this week for one local resident, who won £250 worth of free flooring after briefly popping into his Carpetright store in Rochdale.

Max Lazarus, 25, who lives in the area got more than he bargained for after opening a sealed promotional envelope on entering the store, and finding an orange ticket enclosed.

With 477 orange tickets in circulation at 280 stores around the country, excited staff soon sounded the alarm of a local winner.

“I’m over the moon!” He said, “This will help us massively with moving into our first home."

Deputy store manager, Amir Ali, was just as delighted with the win. He said: “It was so exciting to have a winning ticket in our store. It’s not been an easy few years for most people, so seeing one of our own customers win big was a great feeling all round.”

Carpetright’s Golden Giveaway will be running online and at stores every weekend until 17 December with 47,000 prizes and over £360,000 worth of free flooring to be won across the country.
