Mayor visits retired residents and draws their Christmas raffle

Date published: 24 December 2023

Residents of a retirement complex in Hurstead were thrilled to have their Christmas raffle drawn by the Mayor of Rochdale.

Anchor Housing residents of Ashcroft on Braddocks Close were visited by Mayor Mike Holly on 13 December after enjoying breakfast.

Mayor Holly drew the raffle, which made £95 for residents’ funds over Christmas and will go towards a trip next summer.

Estate manager Sharon Taylor said the residents were “thrilled” at the Mayor’s visit.

She added: “Thank you so much to the Mayor for his visit; a good time was had by all of our residents.”
