Couple in 70s found dead in Castleton house

A couple in their 70s have been found dead in a house at The Woods in Castleton (Wednesday 21 February).
The couple, a 74-year-old man and 75-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the cul-de-sac scene after emergency services received a call concerned for their welfare.
Their loved ones have been informed, say police.
The cause of their death has not yet been confirmed.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “On Wednesday 21 February, at around 2pm, officers were called to a concern for welfare of an elderly man and woman at a property on The Woods, Rochdale.
“Emergency services attended the scene and sadly, a 74-year-old man and 75-year-old woman were pronounced deceased at the scene. Their loved ones have since been informed.”
