Golden Mosque's family Eid celebration a resounding success

Date published: 04 July 2024

The Golden Mosque recently hosted a family Eid celebration fun day to commemorate Eid ul Adha, transforming the venue into a vibrant hub of community activity.

The event attracted families and individuals from all corners of the community, showcasing an impressive array of stalls presented by local businesses.

Attendees were treated to a rich tapestry of offerings that catered to all tastes and interests.

Culinary delights included Dutch pancakes, bubble tea, candy floss, samosas, and biryani, while other attractions featured henna art, face painting, and stalls selling clothes and jewellery.

The diverse range of activities and products ensured there was something enjoyable for everyone, fostering a spirit of togetherness and celebration.

Although the primary purpose of the event was not fundraising, it remarkably managed to raise over £1,200.

These funds will be directed towards various charitable causes supported by the Golden Mosque, reflecting the community's generous spirit and commitment to philanthropy.

Mehmoud, the events coordinator, expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the Eid family fun day.

He extended special thanks to the visitors, whose enthusiasm and participation brought the event to life, and to the stallholders, whose diverse and high-quality offerings were integral to the day's success.

Mehmoud commented: “The turnout and the community spirit were truly heartwarming. We are delighted with the support shown by everyone, which not only made the day enjoyable for all but also enabled us to support important charitable causes."

The success of this event underscores the Golden Mosque's role as a focal point for the community, bringing people together in celebration and mutual support.

It is a testament to what can be achieved when local businesses, families, and individuals unite with a common purpose.
