Music scholarship for Healey Primary School

Date published: 18 October 2007

Middleton Rotary Club President Jim Kenyon visited Healey Primary School recently to present the school with a Music Scholarship.  The scholarship will be awarded to a child from the school who displays attributes of commitment, music ability, enthusiasm, being a fine school representative, and who may not otherwise get the chance to take part in musical activities of the school.

Headteacher at Healey, Susan Taylor said: "I am very pleased to accept this award and really do think this will encourage children to get more involved with our musical activities.

"The school has a long a long history of musical activity producing in the past orchestras, bands and choirs."

Mr Kenyon responded that members at Middleton Rotary are always keen to encourage the local community, in particular the young, in activities that can make them proud and consequently the community proud of their subsequent achievements.
