Woman taken to hospital following handbag fire

A woman was taken to hospital after suffering burns to her hands following a fire involving a handbag in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 2 December 2010).
Three fire engines from Rochdale and Littleborough attended a fire in the living room of a town house on Basil Court, Newbold at 2.14am.
The woman was treated for smoke inhalation with hospital therapy and taken to hospital by ambulance.
A man suffering the effects of smoke declined hospital treatment.
