We would like to thank all parents and carers of Year 7 students for attending Parents’ Evening on Thursday.

Well done to our Year 9 rugby team, who played against a very strong Saddleworth School - Oldham champions and National semi-finalists - just before half term. Although our lads were beaten by an excellent side they played very well and really enjoyed the experience. They are now looking forward to their next fixture which is against Waterhead Academy. Congratulations to the following for being great sports and for representing the school so well: Abdul Shahid, Liam Hagan, Sam Fitton, Connor Fitton, James Haigh, Ben Lee, Daniel Buckley, Ben Ratu, Joe Whitworth, Josh Hughes, Michael Moore, Joe Vandenburg, Sam Gilchrist, Thomas Williams, Anthony Burleigh, Joe Hill and Jack Hadfield.

Our students of the half term for January and February for Year 7 are: Javaria Rajput, Matthew Marcantonatos, Amina Batool, Haroon Hussain, Jack Emerson, Luke Farrell, Ruqayyah Bibi, Shagufta Kanwal, Kiran Shahid and Zainab Gahfoor. For Year 8 we have Judith Yung, Saad Babar, Frankie Bagshaw, Ambreen Quaval, Chris Goulding-Mitchell, Frankie Newton Chelsea Bowker, Aleena Ali, Samantha Mc Grady and Tinotende Kumete. For Year 9 we have Amber Heaviside, Paul Swarbrick, Taman Barzinji, Harun Miah, Kate Bearshaw, Na’il Rafiq, Georgia Smith, Tayyiba Azam, Laura Grindrod, and Ellie Goslin. Our students of the half term for Year 10 are Robert Pearson, Joseph Mitchell, Jack Simpson, Jennifer Nairn, Aishah Ramzan, Danielle Irvine and Becky Moore. Finally in Year 11 we have Connor Nolan, Joanna Fleming, Michael Horgan, Tom Boon, Andrew Saunders, Liam Tarpey, Bilal Muhammed and Chelsea Mulleeney. Congratulations to all of you for working so hard.

We have just had confirmation from Bag2School that we collected 560 kilos totalling £280.00. This money will go towards funding the Year 7 and 8 trips to Burrs Country Park later in the year – this is fantastic news. Thanks very much to staff, students and families for supporting this event. There is a further day which is booked for Thursday 9th June – so please start collecting and we will forward details nearer the time.

Well done to our highest attending forms for the week commencing 14 February. 7B, 7C, 8D and 10E all achieved a superb 100% attendance for that week with 9B and 11B coming extremely close.
