NSPCC Golf Day
Fundraisers have raised over £2,000 for the NSPCC at a charity golf day.
The golf day was hosted by the Littleborough branch of the NSPCC at The Whittaker Golf Club.
Thirteen teams of four braved the weather on Friday (10 June) and a grand total of £2,600 was raised from entry fees, donations and a raffle.
Carole Kennedy from the Littleborough branch, said: “It was a really good day, the amount raised topped last year.
“This is the third year we have held the golf day and it is a challenging course.”
Mrs Kennedy added: “The committee would like to thank The Whittaker Golf Club Richard Whipp for organising the day, local businesses for raffle prizes and our main sponsor, Kerry Webb of KW Mortgages of Littleborough.”
The winning team was Surface Protection based in Littleborough, the ‘nearest to the pin’ winner was Peter Moore of Hillside Printers and the ‘longest drive’ winner was Christine McTighe.”
