Wardle Village Church

Date published: 15 November 2011

We are both the Anglican Church for the Parish of Wardle and Smallbridge and also the Methodist Church working together as Wardle Village Church.

This Sunday our Morning Service will begin at 10.45am which will be led by Mr Cyril Whittle, everyone is welcome and the Sunday Club will meet upstairs at the same time.
Why not come to our Mother and Baby/Toddler Club held every Monday and Wednesday?

Admission is £1 for Adults and 50p for children and visitors can fun with the numerous toys, share experiences, keep in touch and enjoy light refreshments.

At the harvest service Miss Catherine Aden, headteacher of St James Primary School, Wardle, reflected on her short time in Africa and the struggles that some communities have in order to get a basic education that we take for granted. We learned that sending just small amounts of money can make a difference to families, helping to provide basic tools for education as well as training for life in a rural setting. To this end we have asked that a "Jar of Grace" be brought to our Christingle Service which will be held on Sunday 27th November at 10.45am money from which will be sent to Self Help Africa.

A big thank you to all who helped at our Autumn Fair last weekend which raised over £600 for church funds as well as £150 for Springhill Hospice.

Keep a look out for posters from Littleborough Churches Together advertising Services and events at our local Churches throughout December. If you are off to Manchester on Sunday 4th December be sure to catch the Santa Special at 13.04pm from Littleborough for Brass Band and carols and Father Christmas.
Festivities begin at 12.45pm on Littleborough Station.
