Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 15 June 2012

We are very pleased that after seeing a recent news article about us celebrating our young artists on our Joint Curriculum Day during the Spring Term (www.rochdaleonline.co.uk/news-features/2/news-headlines/66304/young-artists-get-creative), Cheryl Eastwood Executive Director of Children, Schools and families for Rochdale has been in touch with Springside and Hamer Schools with a request for the schools to provide some art work for her office. There are obviously a lot of visitors to the Executive Director’s Office throughout the year so this is a superb way to showcase the work of the two schools and the skills and talents of our children across our learning community.

We would like to say thank you once again to those Mums and Dads who came along to help the staff on Wednesday on the Foundation Park visit – we really couldn’t do it without you and it is fantastic that you are supporting us all to enrich the learning experiences of our children.

Tomorrow on Saturday 16 June at school there will be a Dad’s Activity Day.
The school will be open tomorrow between 10.00am and 12 noon and there will be a number of activities and (weather permitting!) hopefully the opportunity to do some sport outside. Please come along with your child and support us – Mums also very welcome.

As part of the Key Stage 2 IPC topic based on the Olympics, all the children across school will be joining in with The Hamer Olympics on the 18 June. Please support us by sending your child into school in their sportswear and trainers on Monday. We would like to say a big thank you in advance to Mrs Casey for organising this for us all.

Well done to Mrs. Barron’s class who are the winners of the best attendance award for the week ending 15 June 2012

On Thursday 21 June we will be re launching our weekly coffee mornings with the opportunity to ‘drop in’ from 9.00am. Please do come along and have a coffee or cup or tea with us and other friends in the community.

For the week ending 15 June the winners of the Good Citizens Award are Key Stage 1 pupils for their excellent behaviour whist on the trip to the Tropical World.
