Child sex charges: Nine men in court

Nine men have appeared in court over the alleged sexual exploitation of a girl in Rochdale.

The defendants, aged between 26 and 39, are accused of committing various sexual offences separately against the teenager between 2008 and 2009.

They appeared before Bury magistrates where all were released on bail.

The men, who are from Rochdale, are due to appear at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on 30 November.

A provisional date was set for a plea and management hearing at the same court on 14 February.

Freddy Kendakumana, 26, of Ilminster, Rochdale, has been charged with rape, attempted rape and sexual activity with a child under 16.

Roheez Khan, 26, of Ashfield Road, is accused of sexual activity with a child under 16.

Chola Chansa, 32, of Ilminster, Rochdale, has been charged with sexual activity with a child under 16.

Ali Asghar Hussain Shah, 39, of Lyefield Walk, is accused of sexual activity and inciting sexual activity with a child under 16.

Anjam Masood, 30, of Marne Crescent, has been charged with sexual activity and inciting sexual activity with a child under 16.

Asrar Haider, 38, of Chamber House Drive, Castleton, is accused of sexual activity and inciting sexual activity with a child under 16.

Abdul Huk, 36, of Ouldfield Close, has been charged with sexual activity with a child under 16.

Mohammed Rafiq Abubaker, 31, of Allington, Freehold, is accused of sexual activity and inciting sexual activity with a child under 16.

Mohammed Ali, 27, of Exbury, has been charged with sexual activity with a child under 16.
