Friends of Norden Jubilee Park announce its charity for the year
Date published: 11 June 2013
The group which organises events for families on the park off Hutchinson Road has chosen to raise for money for Rochdale Macmillan Nurses over the next year.
The friends decided to fund raise for that cause in memory of Councillor Ann Metcalfe.
Councillor Metcalfe was instrumental in the founding of the group.
As well as raising money for itself to hold events throughout the year, the friends will collect money for its chosen charity.
The friends was set up after the success of the Party on the Park to mark the Queen’s Jubilee in 2012.
All members of the group are residents from Norden and passionate about making the park a key feature of the village. They hope to encourage the whole community to make use of it.
The group plan to hold a series of events at the park so that it is a hub of the community.
