Woman attacked with hammer in attempted murder

A woman was attacked with a hammer on Ashbrook Hey Lane over the weekend. The 54-year-old victim was left with serious head injuries. She was taken to hospital where her condition is stable.
Police were called to a house on Ashbrook Hey Lane at around 4am on Saturday 13 July 2013. A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
