Twenty years of jail time for violent criminals

Three men from Rochdale have been jailed after they were convicted of number serious offences in the Rochdale area.

Nathan Downey aged 23 (09/08/1990) was sentenced to nine years.

Iblal Ishaq aged 21 (27/05/1992) was sentenced to seven years.

Shamas Uddin aged 21(28/01/1992) was sentenced to 56 months.

On Saturday 24 November 2012 Downey, Ishtaq and Uddin smashed their way through a patio door at a address in Spotland and threatened a elderly lady and her daughter with a baseball bat and stole personal items.

During the evening of Wednesday 28 November 2012 Downey physically grabbed a victim by her hair and dragged her out of her vehicle on Sandbrook Park, Rochdale. He physically removed the keys from her hand and drove off in her vehicle. He crashed just outside Sandbrook Park and left the vehicle, stealing items from the car.

DI Lee Hopwood Rochdale North: "These men were responsible for committing some of the most horrific crimes. They showed no regard whatsoever for the safety and well-being of the victims.

"Our officers responded to these incidents with an absolute determination to apprehend these offenders and bring them to justice.

"I hope the victims can now move on with their lives after enduring these terrible incidents."
