St Andrew's, Dearnley and Smithy Bridge
A reminder that this Saturday, 22 February, we will have a visit to church by the Maranatha Gospel Choir, who will provide us with a concert for all the family.
It starts at 7pm, entry is FREE and, as always at St Andrew's, we have a welcome on the mat for everyone.
For those who have not yet seen our 'new' church - highlighted by our 'Wider Welcome' alterations and extensions to the parish room - this would be an opportunity to come and have a look at us and at the same time to enjoy an evening's entertainment by these renowned Gospel singers.
Refreshments will be available.
We have our usual Sung Eucharist at 9.30am on Sunday, the parish rota for which is as follows:
Lay assistants, S Moore, C Cook; readers, W Foote, J Coomer; Intercessions, S Knight; sidespersons, P Shrigley, B Kelly; refreshments, Jackie, Shirley H, Margaret C.
Now that the building work at the west end of church is complete, we are back with Eucharist on Thursdays (9.30am) on a regular weekly basis.
On Thursday this week we will celebrate Holy Communion out in the parish at both Ashcroft and Belvoir, while on Thursday evening in the vicarage we will meet for an 'Any Questions' session or 'Brains Trust' as part of our ongoing Bible Challenge.
On a similar theme George Dobbs will lead a four-part series during Lent called 'Seeking the Sacred'.
It will be held in the parish room at 7.30pm on the Thursday evenings of March 6, 13, 20 and 27. Further details from George.
Dates for your diary:
- Saturday, March 15, Line dancing at 6pm, raising funds for the Stroke Association;
- Saturday, March 29, Parish Quiet Morning, led by Bishop Mark, 10am to 1pm.
