The congregation of Trinity Methodist Church in Heywood held a table top sale and coffee morning this morning (Saturday 22 March) to raise funds for the
church.
The event, which was the first of its kind for the church, raised money for the upkeep of the church and for work to be undertaken on the churches car park.
As well as raising money for the church, three stalls were raising money for separate charities: Cherwell Court, Belarus and the Hemophilia Society.
Minister Sharon Read said: "For our first event of this kind it has been good. We have been busy since we opened the doors at 10.00am."
Stalls at the event included a toy stall, a cake stall and hand-made crafts made by the church craft group.
Sharon added: "The craft group is a new venture so we are try to push that a little bit as well. They have made hand-made rosettes and hand painted glasses
that they are selling today."
The church hopes to do similar events in the future.
