Kentmere Primary learn to ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’

Date published: 02 April 2014

Year 5 were taken to visit a landfill site this term at Heywood to learn all about recycling.

None of the children knew what to expect, but they were greeted with an exciting and educational day.

Rochdale has one of the worst records for recycling, and the children have been keen to teach everyone what they have learnt.

A school spokesperson said: ‘The children were taught interesting facts and had a really exciting day!’

Activities involved guessing how much rubbish a truck was carrying and learning why we should all ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’ more.
