Candlelight Vigil to commemorate the outbreak of World War One
Date published: 07 July 2014
As part of their plans to commemorate the outbreak of World War One 100 years ago next month, St Andrew's, Dearnley will be holding a candlelight Vigil in Church on Sunday, August 3 between 8pm and 9pm.
It will be a service of repentance, reflection and reconciliation.
A scroll in the Lady Chapel lists fallen heroes from the parish who died in both world wars.
St Andrew's would love to make contact with relatives, family members or descendants, who are asked to ring church warden Susan Knight on (01706) 371393.
On a similar theme there will be a Reconciliation Vigil for Peace at St Mary's RC Church, Littleborough on Monday, August 4 at 7pm.
