Date published: 01 August 2014

Rochdale Sixth Form College has come top of the class after its prospectus scooped a Gold Award at the Heist awards.

The college won the award for Best Further Education prospectus at the annual Heist awards for education marketing. Rochdale Sixth Form College beat off competition from Preston College to pick up the coveted award at a Gala Dinner at the Palace Hotel in Manchester.

The award was given for the 2013/14 prospectus, which was designed by Salford design agency, Carbon Creative. The 64 page brochure is brought to life with the use of lively lifestyle shots of the College and its students, and packed with helpful information for potential students to identify the courses open to them.

The judges’ commented that Rochdale Sixth Form College’s prospectus was ‘a bright, lovely publication which has a lot going for it.’

Julian Appleyard, Principal of Rochdale Sixth Form College, said: “I was delighted that our prospectus won the Gold award for Further Education. The Heist Awards are the leading awards programme for education marketing.

"As a relatively young college the quality of the prospectus is always paramount for giving potential students a feel of what the college is about. We believe our prospectus captures the energy and values of the college and that was reflected in the judge’s comments.”
