RedAid awarded charitable status

RedAid
RedAid has been awarded charitable status. The charity, set up by Redwood Secondary School, aims to make life more enjoyable for young people with disabilities and their carers in Rochdale and the surrounding areas.
The charity hopes to do this by providing assistance for children and young people with learning disabilities up to the age of 19.
This will be done where the trustees in their absolute discretion deem appropriate, above and beyond that which is provided on the national
curriculum.
Even though the charity is based at Redwood Secondary School, the charity is a separate organisation to the school.
As well as providing assistance for families, the charity hopes to be able to provide funding for projects helping disabled children and their families.
Since the start of RedAid, £2,600 has been raised to help the charity. This has been raised through a variety of fundraisers including a successful family fun day.
Announcing the news, RedAid thanked their supporters for all of their help in getting them to this point.
