John Saint George Howarth (age 23) and Scott Harrison (22) were sentenced to five years imprisonment for a number of offences including burglary and robbery.

Milnrow/Newhey

Wild House Lane, 7 August, 09:00 – 18:50: Unknown offender(s) approach premises from the field at the rear of the house. Climb over four foot wall and make their way to the rear door of the premises. Kick open the door and enter the premises. Approach an internal wooden door and kick it open allowing entry to the kitchen. Conduct an untidy search of the premises and steal items from within. Unlock the side door using key left in the lock and exit via the same making good their escape from the scene via the field at the rear of the premises.

Albert Street, 8 August, 08:00: Known offender approaches the rear insecure door; enters the address and proceeds to remove a mobile phone from a charger. The offender is confronted by the occupier and an argument ensues resulting in the offender leaving as per entry in an unknown direction. 

Major Street, 9 August, 00:10 – 01:10: Unknown offender/s gain access into the property by unknown means and carry out a tidy search of downstairs and remove items from within. The offender/s made off via the rear conservatory door using keys which had been left in the property and exited via an adjoining gardens towards an alley gate at the end of the street, making off in unknown direction.

Smallbridge & Firgrove

Juniper Drive, 11 August, 00:30 – 08:30: Unknown offenders approach the rear of the property and enter into the conservatory through an insecure door. The offenders force open an internal door into the dining room and took car keys from the dining room table. They took the occupiers vehicle from the drive making good their escape in said vehicle.

Mentmore Road, 12 – 13 August, 14:30 – 22:30, Unknown offender/s entered an insecure front garden; and made their way through to the rear garden. The offender then used an unknown implement to prise open the ground floor kitchen window entering through same, using a wheelie bin as a ladder. The offender/s conducted an untidy search of the premises and steal from within. The offender/s escaped as per entry and leaft in an unknown direction.

Kirkholt/Balderstone

Curzon Road – 13 August - 1400 – 1530 - between times stated unknown offender/s have approached the side kitchen door; and smashed the door window using unknown means. Offender/s then reach through and unlock the door using the key which is inside the lock. Offender/s then enter and conduct tidy search; before exiting as per entry. No property stolen

Castleton

Manchester Road, 09 August, 00:30 – 01:30: Unknown offenders approached the rear yard of the property via the rear alley way and approached the rear patio door and snapped mechanism to break the lock on door. Entry was gained but the alarm sounded. The offenders made off in unknown direction without any property.

Kingsway

Prince Street, 8 August,  19:45 – 22:45: Unknown offender/s approach the property from the rear alleyway gaining entry into the rear garden via a closed but not locked gate. The offender/s used force to remove the middle panel of the upvc rear ground floor door gaining access into the kitchen area. The offender/s conducted an untidy search of the whole house stealing items from within. The offender/s exited via entry making good there escape in an unknown direction.
