Following a mammoth year as Mayor, Councillor Peter Rush popped into Springhill Hospice last Wednesday with a fantastic surprise.
After raising a whopping £37,000 for his Mayor of Rochdale Charity Appeal and splitting it between various charities in the borough he called in to the Hospice for afternoon tea with Hospice Founder Margaret Geoghegan MBE and Fundraising Lead Alison McGuigan and presented them with a cheque for £1,000.
Alison McGuigan said “The Hospice are absolutely delighted to be chosen as one of the Mayor’s charities this year and to receive this donation from Cllr Rush. What a fantastic boost to our fundraising efforts”.
