Oldham Road closed after car collides with house causing a gas leak

Oldham Road is currently closed after a car collided into three vehicles and a house causing a gas main to rupture.
It is understood that the road is closed from Shaw Road and past the Yew Tree Pub opposite St Cuthbert’s School.
Police have stated that the road currently remains closed as officers may have to evacuate houses due to the gas leak.
Police were called at 10.50am (Tuesday 26 August) to reports that a car had crashed.
The car, an Audi had collided at speed into three other vehicles and then into an address on Oldham Road.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Police currently remain at the scene.
