Linda Fisher, Rochdale Borough Council’s Acting Chief Executive, is leaving to become Assistant Director of Legal Services in Wigan.
She has worked at Rochdale Borough Council for five years, initially as Head of Legal Services then Director of Corporate Services and Deputy Chief Executive before stepping up to act as Chief Executive following the departure of Jim Taylor in April.
It is anticipated she will remain at Rochdale until the appointment of a new Chief Executive later this year.
Ms Fisher said: “I have enjoyed working at Rochdale Borough Council over the last five years. I have worked with and met some incredible people and led some exciting and high profile projects.
“I have taken up an opportunity to work as the Assistant Director of Legal Services in one of the largest and best performing authorities in the country, in my home town.
“I am very proud of my achievements in Rochdale and my work with the Armed Services which will carry on and look forward to continuing to work in and contribute to the success of Greater Manchester.”
Leader of the Council, Councillor Richard Farnell said: “This is an important time of change and development for Rochdale and we want to build on the work already done in recent months and look to the future with ambition.”
