We are delighted to welcome the professional dance company, 12 Degrees North as artists in residence in October as they work with our students and those of nearby schools for a full week. The dancers will be teaching a range of pieces to students and providing a unique showcase opportunity at the end of the week to all those learners involved. For more details about the residency, please contact Ms Wystawnoha.

Following on from their successful music grade exams in the summer term, five of our pupils have been offered the opportunity to study an undergraduate course in Music Performance at the London College of Music. The exam board were impressed that they had achieved Grade 8 at their age and have offered a place without audition to take up when they leave sixth form if they wish. Congratulations to Hannah Sastawnyuk, Abbey Smith, Emily Baynham, Natasha Waddington and Alyse Costello.

Tutor Group G4 are organising a charity event to raise money for ‘Jeans for Genes’ to help and support young people with genetic disorders. On Friday 19 September, staff and students will be allowed to wear jeans (rest of their clothes to be normal uniform items) for a £1 donation, which will be collected from them as they arrive at school. For more details, contact Ms Turner.

Open Evening takes place on Monday 29 September from 6.45pm until 9.00pm and all are welcome. The headteacher’s welcome and address takes place at 7.00pm and is repeated again at 8.00pm. We hope that families can come along and see the good work that we do.

Students in Year 7 are to receive a free new book as part of our ‘Bookbuzz’ campaign. Work is being undertaken in class in C.A.L.L. and students will be able to choose a book of their choice from a selected list. For more details about the campaign, please see Mr. De Courcey or visit our school website. We are hoping that books will be received before half term.

Letters are about to be issued for three school visits to the theatre; Ms. Wystawnoha is organizing a visit to see Rambert Dance Company perform ‘Roosters’ in October and there are two visits to see ‘Wicked’ and ‘The Little Shop of Horrors’ being organized by Ms. Williams and Mr. Wilcock. Please come along to the CEPA Office at breaktime or lunchtime to find out more.
