Alkrington Primary School receive Rotary Club award

Alkrington Primary School in Middleton have received an award from the Rotary Club of Middleton for their charitable work.
The school were presented with a citation by President of Rotary for Britain and Ireland, Peter King.
The award was given to pupils and the schools ‘RotaKids’ for their work undertaken between 2013 and 2014.
Work done by the children included the shoe box appeal at Christmas, supporting Polio eradication by selling crocus flowers, selling Christmas puddings and establishing links with the Mikoroshoni School in Kenya.
Mr Barnes, Headteacher for Alkrington Primary, said: “I am proud of the charitable work that we do at our school by working with the Rotary Club and at other times in the year, such as during Enterprise Week and I am delighted that the hard work of children and staff has been recognised in this award.”
