Father Christmas touring the streets of Middleton
Date published: 19 November 2014
In what has become a Middleton tradition that spans the generations, the Rotary Club of Middleton will be escorting Father Christmas and his sleigh through the streets of Middleton this December.
The tour kicks off in Alkrington on Tuesday 2 December.
Lee Wolf, the Rotary Club’s Community Chairman, said: "The Christmas Float is one of those traditions that really starts the Christmas session here in Middleton, you know that once you have seen it Christmas is really close.
"This year we have been really lucky to have received sponsorship from Temperley Taylor.
"The float will also be in Middleton Gardens on Saturday 20 December, so that residents of streets that we cannot get to can also meet Father Christmas”.
The money collected during the collections is distributed to Middleton good causes in the New Year.
