Cement wagon overturns and sheds its load
A cement wagon using the temporary road to Crook Hill Wind Farm overturned and shed its load.
The lorry, which is believed to have been carrying a full load, slipped from the road on Sunday (16 November) whilst a subcontractor was trying to overtake another vehicle.
The subcontractor was overtaking a vehicle in a prohibited location rather than using a designated passing place in accordance with site rules.
A Spokesperson for Partnerships for Renewables, the company building Crook Hill Wind Farm said: “There was no danger to personnel on site and the driver was able to climb out of his cab without injury.
“As a result of this incident, all drivers have been given further instruction to ensure that they adhere to the strict rules that our prime contractor has imposed for all personnel working on the site and additional signage and demarcation has also been put in place.
“The lorry has been made safe and will be removed by crane once the foundation works in that area are complete and the level of construction traffic on the access road has reduced.”
