Heywood Local Link extended to cover gap left by 469 bus changes
Date published: 23 November 2014
Heywood Local Link service will now run along Bury New Road to cover the section between the junctions with Sandy Lane and War Office Road.
The move follows calls from local residents and councillors after bus operators First and Rosso made commercial changes services to 468 and 469, leaving some areas without a bus route.
The extended Local Link service will be available from Sunday 14 December, giving the opportunity to travel between 5.30am and 11pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Using Heywood Local Link, passengers will be able to travel to Castleton Rail Station or bus stops within the Heywood area, allowing them to travel onwards to Rochdale.
Fares on Local Link start at £1.
