Huge wasp's nest found in house in Wardle
A huge wasp’s nest has been found in the loft of a house in Wardle.
The nest was found at the end of last week when Jasmine Pitcher’s husband made his way into the loft for the Christmas decorations.
Jasmine said: “We have had a problem before but we didn’t know that it had come back. In the past we have been able to hear them but we hadn’t heard any for a while. Then we decided to venture up there.”
Jasmine and her husband have had exterminators out in the past to clear nests from the house but didn’t anticipate stumbling upon one again.
“We used to hear them and see dead wasps in every room of the house but then it stopped so we thought they had gone but then when my husband went into the loft he saw the nest. We never expected it to be so big and people have said they have never seen anything like it before,” said Jasmine.
The wasps in the nest are all dead so aren’t causing any trouble in the house.
Jasmine has arranged for the nest to be removed on Thursday (11 December).
She added: “I hope it doesn’t happen again. We don’t know how they are getting in or where they are coming from. Saying that though, they did return after the last time so you never know.”
