Last week Wardle Academy pupils continued their annual help to Operation Christmas Child by donating 40 shoeboxes to the charity.
The majority of the shoeboxes were put together by forms, however one Year 10 pupil, James Scantlebury generously donated 10 shoeboxes and £30 towards postage.
The shoeboxes were picked up by Mrs Carole Hartley from Operation Christmas Child.
Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project, run by the Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse.
They have been sending gift-filled shoeboxes around the world since 1990, bringing joy to over 100 million underprivileged children.
They give shoeboxes to children based on need, regardless of their background or religious beliefs.
Mrs Janet Emsley said: “Mrs Hartley said our shoeboxes will probably be going to Kurdistan, no matter where they go, we hope the children enjoy receiving them. Well done to all the pupils and staff involved.”
