The Flying Horse shoebox appeal
The Flying Horse Hotel held their annual shoe box appeal yesterday (Wednesday 17 December) to help the homeless.
Volunteers have been packing shoe boxes with items such as food, toiletries and clothes over the past few weeks ready to be given to Petrus, The Bond Board and The Salvation Army.
Flying Horse Functions Manageress Patricia Boothman said: "This is our third year doing something for the homeless and needy.
"It's great for friends, family and customers of The Flyer to come together at Christmas and help those out in the cold this time of year. The last few weeks have been fantastic with over forty boxes being wrapped busting with tinned food, toiletries, clothes, chocolate and gifts.
“We can't thank people enough for their donations and indeed everyone who came down yesterday.”
