RBH has been shortlisted for two national awards to recognise the pioneering ways they work with customers to build stronger communities.

The mutual housing society is in the running for the Most Innovative Medium Sized Housing Provider and Most Innovative Use of Community Engagement in the Housing Innovation Awards 2015.

Set up to honour innovation within the housing sector the awards will be made at a special ceremony in London in February.

RBH is the first social housing provider in the country to be co-owned by tenants and employees and has introduced projects including Our Choice, where residents decide funding priorities; Young Voices, which supports youngsters in shaping the future of their communities and Digital Champions where people support fellow residents to get online.

Lynne Brosnan, Chairwoman of RBH’s Representative Body, said: “We’re thrilled to have been nominated for these awards following much hard work from customers and employees to build vibrant and supportive neighbourhoods.

“Our borough has a wonderful tradition of finding innovative ways of bringing people together for the benefit of all and we’re delighted to be showing that these mutual values remain as relevant as ever.”
