St Cuthbert's RC Business and Enterprise College

Date published: 08 January 2015

We start 2015 with the themes of New Year and Epiphany, the Enterprise capability is Communication and our Literacy focus is words containing ‘gh’.

We hope everyone had a peaceful and restful Christmas being refreshed and ready to face the New Year and its challenges.

We welcome to St Cuthbert’s community Mrs Saville, Ms Moulton, Mrs Colenutt, Miss Carpenter, Mr Spence and Mr Tunney.

34 pupils and staff from St Cuthbert's spent New Year in the French Alpine Ski resort of Alpe D'Huez.

The group were blessed with over a metre of snowfall on the day of arrival which meant they had fabulous skiing conditions for all members of the party.

All pupils made excellent personal progress with their skiing and skied a range of green, blue, red and black runs across the week with 'Team Extreme' (the advanced group) tackling 'The Sarenne' - the longest black run in the world.

The New Year was brought in in style with a Fancy Dress disco and the traditional 'Auld Langs Syne'. A successful trip was rounded off with a trip to the local ice rink before saying 'Au revoir' to Alpe D'Huez for another year.

Rehearsals are underway for the annual St Cuthbert’s Production which is Annie 15- 17 January in the school hall. Tickets are available now from the Finance Office £7 per adult, £5 concessions and £20 for a family of four.
