Safer Internet Presentations

Members of the schools e-safety team have been working towards improving student's awareness of security features in popular social media platforms like Facebook.
The message was to compare your online safety to the real world , for example would you allow people access to your holiday photos, allow them to copy them and send them to anyone, the same was then asked if you post them to Facebook without having your security settings set this is exactly what you are doing.

The team were very impressed that a majority, around 90% of students were using the security settings in Facebook and Twitter with a majority saying they block and deny people who cause offence.

All students were aware of CEOP and You Think You Know as well as who to notify if they had concerns about either themselves or a friend.

Mission Week

Next week is our School Mission week when we will be thinking about issues locally and considering our vocation. We will be welcoming many visitors and speakers into lessons to help us to live out our motto ‘In Christ we serve’ by considering others.

Pupils have been reminded again about use of mobile phones. They should not be using them to make calls during the school day and we would ask for the co-operation of parents in supporting us with this matter; if it is an emergency school will contact you, if school is closed it will be on the school web site or the LA web site and you will receive text notification (please ensure that we have your mobile number)

Should you need to contact your child please phone reception at school and messages will be passed on.
