Wardleworth clean up

Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) joined organisations and individuals for a clean up in the Wardleworth area.

After the clean up, food was provided by the Rochdale Council of Mosques/Jamia Masjid Bilal inside the mosque.

Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, Secretary, REAG said:" Our sincere thanks to everyone on this very successful clean up.

"It was good to see national, regional and local organisations, mosques, Police and residents working together and taking interest in improving the environment of the Borough of Rochdale.

"Everyone living in, working or having a business in the Borough of Rochdale has a duty to contribute to achieve it.

"The amount being spent on putting extra resources in it and recycling, can be saved to to be spent on developing projects which can further enhance the environmental beauty of the Borough of Rochdale.

"Please take responsibility and spend few minutes every day to clean the front and rear of your business and properties and you will see the difference. "

  • Local residents and Imam of the Jamia Masjid Bilal also took part
