Lancaster University students at the Petrus People store
The Petrus People store on Hamer Lane, Rochdale hosted an international team of students from Lancaster University on Tuesday 10 March.
The students, from the business school, visited the store to discuss how the company can best make use of their retail space.
Claire Jefferies, Store Director, said: “They will also be sharing their ideas on how to reach out over a wide area to attract donations of good quality used
furniture and other goods.
“Our store provides good value and affordable furniture and meets a real community need. We are now in our second year of operation and trading successfully. The sales from every extra donation will help the Petrus charity continue to assist local homeless people – in funding services and, where relevant, by offering furniture at no charge.”
Jingyuan Wei from the Lancaster team said: “As business students, we are delighted to be able to use our business skills to help a charity in its work. We were really impressed by what we saw at the store. By looking at best business practice, we hope to offer Petrus some ideas on how to develop their business even further.”
