Chaplaincy News

Our pupil chaplains and music liturgy group are busy preparing Mass for each year group during Holy Week, when we as a community walk with Christ through his Passion.

It will be a sad week for us as we say goodbye to Father Martin as he leaves Holy Family after Easter to go to his new parish in Salford.

We will miss him very much as he has been a great support to our community and he takes our best wishes with him.

Year 10 News

Year 10 Parents Evening is on Thursday when parents are encouraged to come and meet subject teachers to discuss progress and next steps.

Year 11 News

Year 11 were inspired to keep working hard as the going gets tough. Miss Holt challenged Mr McCabe and Mr Shields to balance 10 nails on top of one. This appeared impossible but with a bit of technique it could be achieved. Year 11 saw that they too can achieve the seemingly impossible with a bit of hard work and exam technique. They learned from the Olympic GB team and saw that success is often due to marginal gains; small things that together make the difference.

Some of our past students came in to offer some advice and motivate Year 11 to keep on going. Students were given a flavour of what it might feel like on exam results day and given advice on what they need to do to secure success.

This week's assembly featured a top tip from the maths department as Year 11 were encouraged to tweet maths problems on line and respond to difficult challenges.
