Bamford Tennis Club open day
Date published: 19 April 2015
Bamford Tennis Club held an open day yesterday (Saturday 18 April) to attract more people to the club and to allow people to try tennis for free.
Roger Ingham from Bamford Tennis Club said: “Today was really about promoting the club and getting more members through the doors. But it was also about letting people have a go at tennis and getting them involved with the sport.
”It can be difficult to promote the club so we thought this would be a good way to attract new members.”
People of all ages tried tennis for free on a number of courts at the club. A coach was also brought in to train some of the juniors who had come along.
Roger added: “It has been a good day and we have had a variety of people come through the door. Not only have we attracted new members but we have also had some old members come back and have a go so it has been really good.”
The next open day to be held by the club will be on 16 May and will be in association with the Lawn Tennis Association.
