Greenhill Methodist Church Spring Fair

Date published: 19 April 2015

Greenhill Methodist Church in Littleborough held a spring fair yesterday (Saturday 18 April) to raise money for the upkeep of the chapel.

The fair included a home bake stall, tombola, raffle, white elephant stall, bookstall, plant stall and a clothes and shoe stall, as well as a potato pie lunch.

Organiser Beryl Tattersall said: “It has gone really well today. We are really pleased with the event. After this event, we usually hold a social event in the autumn, which will also raise money for the church and that is usually something like afternoon tea.”

Organisers usually raise around £500 from the event and are hoping to raise just as much this time around.

Beryl added: “On average, we usually raise around £500 which is good, so we would hope to raise that again. We are only a small chapel with small numbers so whatever we can raise to go towards the upkeep will help.”
