The Multicultural Arts and Media Centre (MAMC) held their annual Arts for Health and Well-being event yesterday (Saturday 18 April).

The event was to celebrate people who have been part of the project for the past year and who are currently on courses within the centre.

CEO of MAMC, Mohammed Sarwar said: “We have had a fantastic event. We have attracted so many people from all over the community. It has been a really good event.”

The event included arts and crafts, multicultural performances and poetry, health and well-being projects and musical performances.

Councillor Mohammed Zaman also attended the event. Speaking about MAMC, he said: “The work that MAMC does is brilliant and I have been to some of their workshops and have learnt a lot. Our community needs this because by working together, we can achieve a lot.”

The event was in conjunction with Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton Clinical Commissioning Group, Link4Life, and Greater Manchester and Lancashire Strategic Clinical Network.
